Chiropractic care is widely sought after for the treatment of many conditions, ranging from back and neck pain to headaches, injuries, and more. Medicare is the largest insurance provider in the United States and it does cover some chiropractic care; however, there are important things you should know if you plan to use your Medicare coverage for chiropractic care.

For those who are 65 years old or older or those who have certain disabilities or medical conditions, Medicare Part B covers some chiropractic care like spinal manipulations to correct a vertebral subluxation (when the spinal joints fail to move properly, but the contact between the joints remains intact).
Medicare Part B also covers diagnostic tests like X-rays and MRIs in certain circumstances; however, Medicare Part B does not cover these when ordered by a Chiropractor.
Medicare Part C, commonly known as Medicare Advantage, may cover chiropractic care for some people. However, the coverage depends on the provider and the plan. It is important to read the details of your policy carefully or to ask us at Community Care Insurance Agency, as coverage and benefits can vary based on your Medicare plan.
Chiropractic care isn’t the only type of care covered by Medicare. Medicare Part D, which helps cover prescription drugs, may also cover some medications used for pain relief.

Overall, Medicare does cover some chiropractic care. However, it is important to understand the details of your coverage and what your plan does and does not cover. It’s also important to talk to your chiropractor and make sure they accept Medicare payments. A qualified Medicare chiropractor can help you determine the best care plan for your particular needs and that it is covered by your insurance.
